COLUMBUS, OH – Today, the Ohio AFL-CIO released the following statement from President Tim Burga on the Trump administration’s executive order that attacks federal workers’ collective bargaining rights.

“Donald Trump’s executive order gutting collective bargaining for federal workers is a blatantly illegal attack on workers’ rights,” said Tim Burga, president of the Ohio AFL-CIO. "This is a disgraceful and retaliatory attack on the rights of hundreds of thousands of patriotic American civil servants —nearly one-third of whom are veterans— and tens of thousands frontline workers here in Ohio.  These threats to unions and working people across America will not work and we will not be silenced.

"The Ohio trade union movement joins together in the cause that an injury to one is an injury to all and stand in solidarity with federal workers.  The right to collectively bargain is a fundamental American freedom, and we will fight like hell to protect it.”
