By the Numbers: How Much Did the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Give Ohio?

According to the White House, the administration so far has announced nearly $454 billion in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law funding all over the country. That includes more than 56,000 specific projects and awards, across over 4,500 communities in all 50 states, D.C., the territories, and for Tribes. Nationwide, it said that work will improve over 257,009 miles of roads and replace up to 1.7 million toxic lead pipes.

“We are breaking ground and cutting ribbon on ribbons on projects that are unlocking access to economic opportunity, creating millions of good paying jobs, boosting domestic manufacturing and growing our economy from the bottom up and the middle out,” White House Deputy Chief of Staff Natalie Quillian told reporters. “We are breaking ground and completing projects across every single state and territory.”

The White House just released a tally of money the state has received so far under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, CHIPS and Science Act, Inflation Reduction Act, and American Rescue Plan.

  • Grand total: $12.8 billion in public money to Ohio for clean energy, infrastructure and manufacturing.It said that from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law alone, $11.9 billion has been announced for 488 Ohio projects including:
    $7 billion for roads and bridges

  • $1.5 billion for high speed internet

  • $896.9 million for public transit

  • $886.8 million for clean water, including $238.2 million to replace toxic lead pipes

  • $187.9 million for clean transportation, including $110 million for EV chargers, $71.4 million for clean trasit buses and $6.5 million for clean school buses.

  • $186.8 million to clean up legacy pollution

  • $171.5 million for airports

  • $41.2 million for ports and waterways
