Flight Attendants at Dayton Airport Fight for Better Working Conditions

Flight attendants made their voices heard outside of the Dayton International Airport Wednesday, demanding higher pay and benefits.

Attendants with PSA Airlines, a subsidiary of American Airlines, say that they have been negotiating for a better deal for multiple years, but are now saying enough is enough.

“Flight attendants are living in their cars, they’re living in crash pads,” said Rebecca Black, AFA negotiating committee member. “They can’t afford rent and apartments, they’re having to live with their families.”

Organizers of the demonstration told 2 NEWS they just want what their counterparts are getting.

“I was proud to join with our AFA-CWA members fighting for fair pay and scheduling so they can continue to keep us safe when we fly,” said Ohio AFL-CIO Tim Burga who attended the picket along with the Dayton-Miami Valley AFL-CIO. "Across the country, workers are under attack, and as a united labor movement we will continue to fight for good jobs, safe jobs and workers’ rights."
