Melissa Cropper (AFT) Elected New Ohio AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer

of office to Secretary-Treasurer Cropper

On April 12, 2019, The Ohio AFL-CIO Executive Board elected Melissa Cropper (AFT) by acclamation as the the state federation’s Secretary-Treasurer. Cropper will succeed Petee Talley who retired March 1, 2019 after serving with distinction for 40 years in the labor movement, and nearly two decades as a state federation officer.

“I am honored to be elected by my union brothers and sisters to serve alongside President Burga as Secretary Treasurer of the Ohio AFL-CIO, said Cropper The union has been an important part of my life, allowing me to work a job with good benefits, advocate for better learning conditions for students, and push to create better working conditions for everyone. As Ohio AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer, I look forward to expanding this work by connecting with members from unions across the state as we work together to build a better life for all Ohioans.”
