Former Dayton Delphi workers, AFL-CIO’s Liz Shuler slam trade deal

Moraine — Adding their voices to a growing chorus that is skeptical of global trade deals, former Delphi workers gathered at the site of a former auto plant Tuesday to protest the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
“The industrial heartland of this country is being hollowed out, mainly due to bad trade agreements,” said Liz Shuler, national AFL-CIO secretary-treasurer, who joined former Delphi and General Motors workers on the Dryden Road land where a Delphi plant once stood.
“The effects of bad trade deals, we’re standing at a place where that has occurred,” said Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley.
